Hi

Anyone got any info or experience with this receiver. Currently have a SR7300OSE which has been great for both music and movies, but does not have the latest Dolby TrueHD, DD+, DTS-HD.

Thanks

Slimline amp - sexy looking if that's your thing.
What speakers are you running?
What are your input devices?

Hi

Front speakers are 30+ year old Kef C40, surrounds are Wharfedale Valdus 100, centre Cerwin Vega E 75C.
No sub at the moment but looking at a Velodyne Impact 10 or Wharfedale SW150 Subwoofer (any suggestions on these?)

Pannasonic DMP BD65 Bluray
Marantz CD5400 CD player
MacBook for MP3

Thanks

Cool - the Marantz is 50W per channel, seems low, but truthfully, Marantz don't exaggerate their RMS figures like some other manufacturers... I'm not 100% on the specs of your current speakers, do you have their specs on-hand?

How are you looking to connect your Macbook? Via optical?

I do like the Velodyne subs, the Impact 10's are well regarded by many people, so it should treat you well.

Thanks for the reply

Both front and surrounds are rated at 100w

Yes I'm connection via optical from Macbook.

Majority of use is for music and Bluray/DVD music concerts. Not a great need for window rattling bass, just nice clean bass.

Thanks

The NR1601 has USB iPod integration and HDMI 1.4a specs...
But if you can get a sweet deal on the Marantz, I'd give it a nudge.

Thanks for replies

Am now looking at SR5004 the RRP $2300 is bit higher than the 1501 but local HN was prepared to take $1750 for display model the other day, may get them lower who knows?

Been reading about "Pop Of Death" with the X0004 models, has this happened in NZ?

So you're saying you can get a SR5004 for $550 (RRP $2300 - $1750)?
If so - GET IT! Holy crap!
