Hi.
I am new to geekzone, searching out some internet wisdom. I know the internet is becoming useful to those who have had a bad experience with a product or service by allowing them an effective way of fighting back so I am trying to work out the best way to approach this. My partner and I have had a bad experience with an LG tv which worked terribly with NTSC dvds. After researching on the internet I found that this was quite a common issue with new tvs and that it would possibly need to be calibrated. Basically I called the wrong tv fix it place. They were the only one in the Hawkes Bay area with a website and an 0800 number (which goes to wellington???) so I figured they might know what they were doing... hhmm... Apart from spinning us a whole lot of nonsense and assuming we didnt know anything they had the tv for almost a month and couldnt solve the problem. Basically they treated us terribly and we are told now that Harvey Norman and Bond and Bond refuse to work with them. Wish I'd known that at the start.... so does anyone know how best to complain?

I suppose in order to answer your question there needs to be some more input from you.

You have identified a problem in that the company were unable to fix your problem, and apart from the poor service and other disgruntled companies nowhere does it say what issues YOU have, and what it is you want to complain about.

You really need to identify if you were charged for those repairs(or lack of), what issues you have other than them having your TV for a month and being unable to fix it, (this is quite a common problem) what remedy you are seeking, and what lengths you are prepared to go to to seek that remedy and last but not least, what are you going to do to get your TV fixed?

Is the TV still under warranty, and if it is a known issue with the TV have you contacted LG for advice?

Who repaired the TV - if LG or the retailer didnt recommend them to you, then theres no point in going to LG at all. Who sold you the TV ? They are the ones liable for all issues, not the manufacturer (as the manufacturer didnt sell to you). Though a protracted/extended/overly terrible experience may lead you to comment to a national distributor, though unless its *really* extreme, I dont know that there is much point in contacting a global manufacturer (others may have a different opinion).

I am also in Hawkes Bay and just had a Sanyo 42" Plasma repaired at Next Electronics on Heretaunga St. The service was very fast, and the job done well, but they lost our power cable and damaged our remote (which they are putting right).

Ok yeah, I guess I should have stated the info I was after more clearly. What I would like to know is if there are websites in NZ at all that are like public consumer feedbacks. I would like to be able to post on and refer to a website such as this when looking for a particular service or product. I would like to be able to advise people not to use Woollards in Hawkes Bay to have their televisions  fixed and state the reasons why (positive feedbacks would be useful as well of course). Does anyone know of such a website. Cheers
