Cheers all!
I was hoping some of you could point in the right direction- this question covers a few different forum (fora?).
Right now we have MySky and a MagicTV box (different rooms) But we also have a new Panasonic smart TV.
I'd like to get rid of Sky and find the right solution to watch recent series/new series of shows such as Justified, Breaking Bad (moot point soon, I know), i.e. shows that seem to be on Sky Soho.
I am aware of NetFlix, Apple TV etc- but not up to speed on the detail. Some people seem to acquire US subscriptions which make content we'd like available..but how? I want HD quality as well, not interested in low quality watch on your ipad stuff.
We have fibre to the telephone pole outside, I'm with Vodafone, so sign of UFB plans yet..:(

If anyone would be able to just maybe list the options, or a good site to start with- that would be great!

How recent is recent to you?

If you mean the current season, then netflix isn't what you want. There are almost no current seasons of shows on netflix. To give you an example, they have just (literally in the last couple of days) added the first half of season 5 of breaking bad to netflix, which was shown in July 2012.
This is pretty common for netflix. Most tuff they have is at least 1 year old, often older than that.

But if you are ok with that, then you should go for it, since it is awesome. Just don't expect to see any new stuff (except for the shows they make themselves) or anything at all from HBO. I.e. no game of thrones, true blood, newsroom, sopranos etc etc

Oh you should stll definitely consider netflix. It's great. But just don't expect to have 'everything' via netflix, which many people think.
iTunes USA is a good way to get access to almost everything, although its quite expensive as you pay per epsiode
