<Posting in "introduction" as I haven't found the link to post a new topic in forum "Startups">

Hello all, I would like to introduce our startup coursefinder.co.nz launched recently (we just started approaching providers to publish courses on our site and hence you would not find many at the moment).

The intention of our website is to publish courses organised by different training and course providers in a single portal. The portal is to advertise professional development, community education & short courses in any industry.

Please take a moment to visit our portal and feel free to provide your feedback and suggestions

Thank you :-)

Regards,
Chris

help us make sure the community is safe.

Welcome! Cool idea. I imagine it will be tough going to begin with.

Btw, posting in the startup forum will get you more feedback. If you have looked at previous you will see some of it can be harsh (and nitpicking) and you will need an open mind for it.

Here's a few items I noted in a couple of minutes:
  • The same course posted multiple times on the front page for any reason is not a good look.
  • The search now buttons in the animation just dont work for me. It is not a good idea this way. It gets all the attention and means very little.
  • The course detail pages are good. Like : ).
  • The site logo reminds me of Mastercard the whole time on site. Same colours + 1. Plan for a change. Eventual legal action warning..

Thank you for the feedback. I have to dig some details of how to post on startup forum as currently the option is hidden for me (as I am still "Wannabe" geek :-) )

  • The same course posted multiple times on the front page for any reason is not a good look.

    • I have now increased the length of course name so that it would display more details in the UI. The system actually randomises listings in that section and when I have atleast a couple of more providers advertising courses, there will be  a mix of courses with different logos of respective providers
  • The search now buttons in the animation just dont work for me. It is not a good idea this way. It gets all the attention and means very little.

    • Tried to fix this but unable to at the moment. Placed a hyperlink for the entire image as a workaround before I fix it.
  • The course detail pages are good. Like : ).

    • Thank you !
  • The site logo reminds me of Mastercard the whole time on site. Same colours + 1. Plan for a change. Eventual legal action warning..

    • One of my friend said the tick reminds him of Nike. Seems the logo designer mixed flavours from some major brands :-) Need to give a thought of what I can do regarding this.

Cheers,
Chris

I don't get why there are two search text boxes next to each other. Entering content in the right hand one doesn't return any results, but entering the same content in the left does.

Hi, we have now added labels to the two text boxes as these are seperate and meant for "Keywords" and "Location".

Thanks for pointing this.

Cheers,
Chris
