Hello all,

I'm a self employed software developer based in Whakatane.

Back in the day, I was a keen Delphi programmer, then I moved into Java, and these days I mostly work in C#/.NET. I work on GIS type stuff, database development/report writing, compact framework for HHC's. Actually pretty much whatever pays the bill's ;)

I'm keen on the outdoors, surfing and hunting being my favourite recreations. Whakatane is great for these activities. Gisborne is better, but my wife wont follow me there :(

I've allready had some useful technical help from these forums so many thanks to the past and present contributors.

Cheers,

Surfa

Hi Surfa,

Welcome to Geekzone - sounds like we have a bit in common. I'm a self-employed .net developer based in Napier, and I work a lot on GIS/Mapping/Reporting type projects too.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Redjungle, I came across a mapping program at Enviroment Bay of Plenty that someone down your way had written (GISMO). Is that you?

Cheers,
Surfa

Hi again Surfa, not me I'm afraid - perhaps Hilltop software?

I understand they're based here also, and I've come across their software here at local councils as well.
