Hi,

About Me:
I'm new to geekzone, but have been involved in IT for a long time.

I know a few things about:
Internet
Software
Mobile Marketing
to name but a few... so basically I know a lot of stuff!

Anyway:
My latest project is http://www.freewifi.net.nz - A Directory of Free WiFi and Hot Spots throughout New Zealand.
To clarify, it's not about where you can pirate Internet from, rather where you can legitimately obtain it from, places such as cafes, accommodation providers, etc.,

Would appreciate feedback and heaps of relevant entries

From home page, click on Add Listing OR use this link http://freewifi.net.nz/submit/

In the heading/description state it is a Hot Spot and other relevant info

I'm just wondering how long have you been part of the Free WiFi project? I think it's great to go the local cafe in Auckland, CBD and have access to emails while I have a cuppa!

Whilst making an appointment for my hair, I asked if they offered wifi, so that i could take advantage of the downtime. They didn't. So when I was sitting there I mapped out what and how I would do it. Just as I finished I overheard a person two seats from me, asking the same thing and the lack of free wifi about. The conversation continued with her and a few others commenting how freely available wifi is in the UK. So by then I joined the conversation.

So after host/software incompatibility issues were resolved, am now at the stage to grow the directory. Daily I receive visitors looking for free wifi and hot spots for specific suburbs, as well as associated business types up and down the country.

Have just purchased a smart phone for the express purpose to use as selling tool to market to businesses offering free wifi and hot spots, for inclusion on www.freewifi.net.nz so that customers can find them. Although that Acer tablet on offer would do a mighty fine job for this purpose!!

Planning on printing stickers for cafe's etc., to display in their window for their prospective customers. And am sussing out relevant wifi apps.

So any suggestions and directory submissions welcome.

So to answer your question, not very long.
