Laptops from America - shipping to NZ
My reason for doing this is that laptops in America appear about 3 times better for identical or less prices.
For example, I wanted an Acer Aspire 5951G from New Zealand, core i7, nvidia 555m graphics, $2000 - $2250 NZD
http://www.elive.co.nz/acer-aspire-as5951g-2678g75bi-laptop-dv5082.php?ref=pricespy
However I also saw a Sager NP9170
http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_customed&model_name=NP9170
and customized it to $1464 US ($1913.30 NZD) lets say a leeway of $100 so a bit lower price than 5951g acer
+ shipping = about 300-400 NZD more :(:(:(
the sager comes with a third generation processor compared to the acer second gen, has a far better graphics card, costs less (without shipping), has a larger display and resolution, faster (but same amount of) RAM, has a little less hard drive space (I think they are the same speed but elive doesn't specify, 2 lazy to check other sites specs, I have researched other nz prices), and a fingerprint reader (not that that matters.
The only thing the acer has up on it really is a media+detatchable track pad (kinda kewl :P).
AAAAAAAND don't forget i think the sager comes without an OS but that is in fact what I want, hard to find in NZ.
ANYWAYS point is, better laptops in america, cheaper prices.
1- anywhere in NZ which can boast the same power?
2- if not (which appears to be the case) how would you go about lessening the shipping price from America to NZ? (I know you probably can't but it's worth an ask)
thank so much for your help :) correct me if any details are incorrect.
