Hi,
I've been looking for a decent laptop for gaming/uni and am having trouble getting the best 'bang for my buck'
I tried looking at laptops on 'justlaptops' computerlounge and a couple others and many of their laptops in the $2000-$2500 range seem fairly average.
I then started looking online and found xoticpc's http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-gt60-2od026us-p-5778.html which seemed really good for the price but later I found out that NZ/AUS have some policy with MSI which doesn't allow their US models to use warranty here + shipping & gst would work out to around almost $3000 anyway.

So any recommendations on gaming laptops?
i'm looking for any of the following:
- 15.6"
- i7 4700MQ 2.4-3.4
- 8gb or 16gb ram
- 770M or 780M
- 120gb ssd + 750gb 7200rpm HD

MSI does have international warranty. Can you tell me where you see the info that AU/NZ is excluded for US-bought MSI laptops?

If you buy in NZ, you will have to pay upwards of over $3000 for a 770M or $3500 for a 780M unfortunately. That's why I bought mine from the US last year.

I highly doubt you'd be able to get a 770M/780M on that price range in NZ

i thought so too, apparently there's some policy between AU/NZ where MSI models must be AU/NZ models to claim warranty in New Zealand, according to the NZ MSI rep you can only claim global warranty if you purchased the MSI laptop while you were in the US and does not apply if you imported the laptop to NZ. They pretty much told me if I bought a US model i didn't have warranty in NZ.

but yea I havn't found any 780M for under $3000

I think the MSI rep has the facts wrong around warranty, unless it is written somewhere in the policies.

I can't seem to find anything which relates to that clause.

You will get significantly better bang for buck - nothing name brand comes close for the price - shipping from AU is about $60 I think?
I have seen some built quality complaints but nothing serious.

how reliable they are? I looked at the laptops u linked and the prices are very low considering and the brands aside from clevo i've never heard of
Have you used them before? I would seriously consider buying from them if their service is reliable
