hi,

for some strange reason my function, ctrl, and shift keys no longer work on my hp6120 laptop.
i have used system restore to go back a few days before any win updates with no success.
i have uninstalled the keyboard driver, booted in safe mode, and nothing works.

the only time the function key does work is when i press f10 to boot into the bios.

very frustrating and confusing as h3ll.

please help.

cheers,
steve.

Problem solved.
I undid 2 screws underneath and lifted up the keyboard, made sure the ribbon was in firmly and pressed the ctrl Fn and shift keys quite firmly. Put it all back together booted up and noticed the display brighten when I plugged the AC power back in....it wasn't doing this or letting me change display settings before.
I pressed Fn9 to dim the display and it worked. Everything's back to normal.
Thank God!

Steve.
