Hi there,

Perhaps this laptop is on its way out but earlier today suddenly the screen flickered and a thin white horizontal line appeared accross the top quarter of my screen.
Nothing I do can remove it. I'm not sure if it's the vid card or the LCD screen itself that is broken.
The weather here is pretty hot at the moment so maybe it overheated or something.

Anyone with laptop display expertise keen to shed some light on what has caused this line and if it is possible to fix?

Thank you very much.

Steve.

had many a nx and nc 6120 series with faulty screens from customers, lines through the display,

always the same solution when sent back, they replace the lcd,

had a customer recently who decided to do one out of warranty, cost about 500$ from the HP service centre,  and then 4 months later same problem happened ( in a different part of the screen )

yeah from what I have now read, it seems very common on these models once they age.
I have managed to find a replacement lcd screen on trademe for $225 but I'm not sure I will bother. Time to upgrade anyway :)
