Does anyone know how to reset or change the password on an acer 5310 Laptop if the user password has  been set and now forgotten??

Any Help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Who would set a password they can't remember?

Have you tried the password ID10T?

is it the actual bios password? or the windows password?

Bios password, find the bios battery(will require some dissassembly, usually beneath the keyboard near the factory speakers, if you can find it, pull the 2-3pin wire out and leave 5 minutes, plug it back in and all settings will be lost.

Windows password, do a search and find a program to do it

This is usually a sign that the laptop is stolen.
If it is the power on password, this password comes up before Windows even starts to load, then you would need to open the laptop up and either reset the CMOS or remove the CMOS battery and leave it overnight and try again.
But sometimes there is now way around them at all without replacing the mainboard.

If it is just a Windows password then very easy to get around it.
