hi there, im new to laptops, i have a Toshiba F20 and its been with me for less than a year now.
the touch pad icon that shows like the pressure of my finger against the touch pad,,,,, im sorry if i dont have the righ terms for these thinbgs im not so good with terms.... anyways....

i usd to be able to scroll up and down the screen using the right side of the touch pad and scrolling left to right using the bottom of the touch pad.... now it isnt working and i dont have any system restore and now im in a rut!!!!! i tried the toshiba utilities but i couldnt find anything that resembles the touch pad thingy..... AND the touch and launch does not work either!!!! HEEEELP!!!!!!!! pleeeeeeeeease!!!!!!!!

have you reinstalled windows, or done any major updates to the operating system?

You could perhaps ask Toshiba what touchpad is installed, and download the drivers, and reinstall them.

Check control panel > mouse and see if there are any settings in there? Perhaps a friend, co-worker, or family member used the laptop, and stuggled with that neat scrolling feature, and simply turned it off?

first of all YES my idiot brother usedf my laptop and when i started arguing what he did to my comp he said he installed an infrared driver, used a USB mouse and installed Nokia PC suite and also a bluetooth program..............

i looked into the mouse setting in control panel, nothing about the touch pads little feature,,,, only on off and sensetivity,,,, and about reinstalling windows i havent done ANY major changes since im not an expert at laptops.... i will try doing what you said about reinstaling the drivers for the pad and see what hapens.... im open for ANY sugestions feel free to hit me with um!
