Moved house on the 8th, had placed a move house order with telecom more than 3days beforehand with connection date. Issues with getting it connected, told they will send a tech around on the 18th!

Yesterday (the 18th) morning Chorus Technician shows up, says he has connected the line, asks to see the a jackpoint (there is only one in the house), connects something to it and I heard a dialtone noise from it. He said its all good to go, if my broadband is not connected by 7pm to call telecom and they will sort it out

Get home from work after 9pm, connect router, not working, try a bunch of things (restarting it, reseting factory defaults, trying spare cable into the jackpoint to make sure its not that... Nothing. So I call telecom, wait 2 hours on hold with them, repeat all the stuff I had done with them and they preformed an isolation test, said I was connected and everything was working from their end.
They said they will need to send a technician around who will check the exchange for any problems and then contact me if needed for internal access.

Now the 19th and still no connectio. So I ring them back, another hour and a half on hold, they said apparently some connection order was not open and the technician that I was told booked in, was never able to be booked, but they would now book in a telecom-chorus(??) technician for me since it was now open. The first available appointment would be the 1st of march!!! I asked why it would be so long, as the night before they were going to send someone around the next day.. they responded by saying they would put me down so that if someone cancelled I would be able to take their spot. I asked again why it would take so long, when I already had a chorus tech here on Monday how come I have to wait yet another 2 weeks. They didn't really say anything, then asked if they could put me on hold to book in the 1st of march...

then they hang up, I wait assuming its a mistake and they will ring me back. Nope, try to ring the call centre again.. and they are closed.. I don't even know if I am booked in for the 1st of march now...
What kind of service is that???

Been with telecom for the last 5 years in my previous Flat never had any major problems, first time I have called the call centre.

Do you think I could try connect to Snap (naked VDSL if possible) or another ISP, or is this line issue still going to be a problem which ever ISP?
I was previously with Telstraclear before telecom but had to switch because new flat wasn't able to connect to telstraclear. I like the speeds but the data caps are a bit small & hefty overuse charges.

If your address is in the zone for VDSL I would give that a try it should be connected by the weekend but you would have to confirm that with them.
