What is the difference between a 3g and 4g SIM card?

Talking about the technical difference. As far as I can tell, they are identical 64K cards with the same capabilities.

Obviously once you activate your 4g SIM, you can access the 4g services, but that is on Telecom's end.

Anyone know of any differences?

Has a slightly different STK in there.

But primarily it's a backend requirement as we are in the process of transitioning from one stack to a new stack as part of 4G/LTE.

So the new 4G SIMs exist in both stacks and the 3G Sims only exist in the old one.

Could go into more technical detail, but that's in effect the reason.
