Seeking info and help!

Has anyone connected ASUS RT-AC68u directly to Spark Ultra Fibre ONT or any other .AC Router and successfully got it going?

Thanks a lot in advance guys.

There are a number of other AC routers out there that work fine. Does the Asus support VLAN tagging? If it does it should work fine.

The router not only needs to support 802.1Q, but the 2011 variant, not just the 2005 version.

Writing a list is difficult because there are now lots of devices out there. A quick search of these forums will certainly provide some answers to your questions from people lately who have been looking at some other hardware.

In terms of AC devices off the top of my head there is the Fritz!box 7490 and Netcomm NF8AC that are being deployed by ISPs. Both are great AC devices.

The Huawei HG659B which is the business router Spark supply. I believe you can purchase it outright from Spark also.

I'm getting that 3rd party page updated to advise that the PPP Auth type must be PAP.
If it's not set that way now, it may work, but will break in around February.

The RT-AC68U works well on Spark VDSL, and I understand it should also be fine on fibre, but don't know anyone on fibre to check.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

I have used the RT-AC66U and RT-AC68U both, you will need to go to LAN -> IPTV -> ISP Profile: Manual -> Internet VID: 10

Have a look for Corksta's guide on getting those routers going with Vodafone UFB, in short you have to go into the IPTV settings to set the vlan
