Hey there,
Just curious if anyone out there has any thoughts, or possibly some inside knowledge.
Went from ADSL2+ to 30/10 naked UFB about a couple of weeks ago. Domestic install out by the airport. on 150GB not unlimited.
Initially I was assuming that the connection profile hadn't been updated from my old connection to the new one, but after about 3 days and 12 phone calls to the world beating spark "helpdesk" i am assured this is not the case.
If I run Spark's speedtest (to CHCH server) between about 4p - 12a pretty much any day I'll get something like 8 - 13Mb/s down and 9Mb/s up, this can go down to 6 - 7 Mb/s at times... If I run it early in the morning or afternoon it's generally 28ish Down, 10ish up.
Using standard spark / enable Huawei gear for domestic connection.
Is this just another massive oversubscription issue, or should I spend another few days on the phone to the helpdesk ??
I understand that international bandwidth is not going to be anything like full speed of the connection, but surely the average speed to the local chch server should be pretty good most of the time ??
Thoughts / querys / comments ??
EDIT: speed tests are one device plugged directly into the modem.
