I was recently given an old phone from a friend (Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562) I've been having problems connecting to spark. I've had a play around with the APN's though I don't really know what I'm doing. It started to work for a small time and has now stopped, with the very rare text going through.
How can I fix this?

gsm arena lists that phone as having no 850MHz 3G, so not suitable for use on spark.

Have the same problem here in Napier NZ. Went into Spark and they told me it does not have the frequency to operate in my area (comes up with "no service") so not a good phone if you want to use Spark. Will work in the main centers the spark guy said, but that's a bit useless if you move about a bit.
It's ok with 2 degrees and Vodophone so unless you are going to use these providers, leave it well alone
