Just moved to a new place in wellington and got VDSL installation today.
I found that the speed was very slow, especially the upload speed which was < 1mb
I had checked on the chorus, it showed that my place should be able to get > 20 Mbps (with the right modem and plan)
And your website said VDSL can have 20 - 60 Mbps DOWNLOAD and 5 - 10 Mbps UPLOAD
I was very disappointed, should a just go back to the ADSL and save $10!?

Have you got a master filter installed? If not, then get one.

Hard to read the image, but it looks like the attenuation is pretty high. Either your line simply isn't good enough for VDSL (go back to ADSL), or you have some internal wiring issue that needs to be sorted (master splitter install).

If you don't have a master filter installed this connection is working as intended.

Also, if you just got connected then let DLM actually run.

I find it hard to read your stats image - could you give us the stats as text?

Did you have an ADSL connection at your new address before you tried VDSL?
If so, what was your downstream attenuation on ADSL?

Did you have a master filter installed?

I think there is no master filter installed

Looks normal mate. If you are using a In Line filter this could be your issue,

Attenuation like that on the upstream is a classic case of no master filter installed, and possibly old 3 wire wiring.

Find the master socket, open it up, disconnect the cabling to all the other sockets and see how you get on. If its a really old house there might be some bell or something across the line somewhere that will also screw up DSL.

If you want the best performance from VDSL2 you need a master filter installed. Virtually every ISP installs one of these as part of a VDSL2 install (as it's included in their monthly pricing), but Bigpipe don't. If you ring them they'll be able to arrange a Chorus technician to visit and install one for $199

In fairness your speeds are lower than what we advertise VDSL speeds to be, yes. However that screenshot shows you've been online for a whole several hours. A couple of people have mentioned DLM in this thread and it takes roughly ~7 days or so to stabilize out. Between checking your internal wiring and giving it time, please send through a support ticket and we'll see what we can do for you.

Feel free to PM me with your email address after too and I can always chase this up for you :)

It is strange it's showing a VDSL2 profile but syncing at perfect ADSL2+ speeds.

was thinking the same thing but the speeds match the attenuation

if you have your modem pluged into the wall via a filter remove that and try again.

but as mentioned, getting a master filter which seperates out the VDSL signal from the phone signals can make a huge difference.

I think the upstream is weird, should not be that slow. Which one is the master socket? the box outside the house?? or the phone jacks?

Yea, i think i will arrange a Chorus technician to install the a master filter.

Third one looks like it, one of the orange and white wires is disconnected already, is there a second one in there discounnected?
