Hi there,

I've recently set up a VDSL connection with Spark and also bought an NF8AC modem to run it through the house. I can get the DSL light to stay solid but am struggling with the settings and configuration on the netcomm side of things.

I was wondering if someone would be able to run me through step-by-step what I need to do in order to get my connection working.

Also, I have a filter in the wall and there is no other jackpoints being used in the house.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Run the wizard, select VDSL, PPPoE and use 0 and 10 respectively as the 802.1p and 802.1q values. Takes all of 15 seconds.

What do you mean by a "filter in the wall"? You should have a master filter and a dedicated jack for VDSL2 installed by the Chorus technician.

Hey thanks thanks for replying! By the wizard Im assuming you mean basic setup. And also it doesn't ask me for 802.1p or q. Just asks me for username and password and then proceeds onto a WAN service setup

By a "filter in the wall" I mean I have gone out and bought a filter that plugs into the telephone jack and then plugged the DSL cable into that. the page I am confused about is the WAN page that comes up after entering my username and password

You should not be using a plug in filter (and doing so will hamper your VDSL2 performance). As part of your Spark install a Chorus technician should have visited and installed a new dedicated jack for VDSL2. Did that not happen?

I've deployed lots of NF8ACs but never paid much attention to setting one up from scratch. You'll need to enter a PTM WAN service if it isn't there already, and need to specify the 0/10 settings or it won't work.

did you get a new connection with spark? did a chorus tech come into the house an install a dedicated jack point for your modem and also install a master filter? if not you need to chase it up with spark as its part of the connection price

I believe the previous owners had VDSL because no chorus tech came and they were able to activate my line instantly... If this was the case, is there any way to tell which jack is the dedicated VDSL jack?

If it's been installed on the last ~18 months it should be the RJ45 surface mount socket.

but you can still activate a line on VDSL with out a site visit and no master filter installed. its a moot point
