Can I use the SPARK B315S-607 modem on another network with that network's SIM card, or is it locked to SPARK?

You can use it with any sim. I've got one currently on Vodafone.

Anyone had any luck using the Skinny ones on another network?

Last time I tried it didn't work.

I have used it with 2degrees, just login to the router settings and add the new network name and APN to the profile settings.

I tried with Netspeed ( Vodafone ) and failed, I had to use a vodafone one we had lying around at work.

I have the unlock instructions but need to find a weird USB cable to do the unlock, I have to find another firmware on there to get access to the 3G network.

I'm looking at Netspeed.  SPARK are stopping dial-up  which is all I could use on the on a microwave link we have. No broadband cable, no mobile phone service where I live.  I have found a weak Vodafone RBI LTE signal eventually using an external aerial. In the meantime SPARK gave me a substantial credit on my phone account which I was hoping to use to buy a SPARK Huawei modem.  The Vodafone signal is used by Netpeed, Farmside and Wireless Network (and Vodafone) to provide rural braodbane.

The discussion seems to indicate I may be at risk with a SPARK modem, some are OK and some not.  Is there a general consesnus?

Always best to use correct provider supplied router for RBI; but there are ways to configure for alternative routers. Flick me a message if you need more details.
