I have several Sanyo 7400 cell phones that I am about to put on Trade Me.  My question is should I delete the old telephone number from the phones before selling them?  The reason I ask is that we are still using these numbers.  These are telecom phones and we have now switched to Vodafone and have kept our old numbers with number portability.  Any help anyone can give would be most appreciated.

That is completly upto you to decide.

Seeing as the numbers are no longer with telecom they have no way in using your credit / account. the worst you could get is prank calls.

Personly I wouldn't bother unless for some reason you want to keep the number private.

Best to delete, I sold my 2 sanyo's as we no longer use them and I deleted all contacts etc. Don't really wanna be victim of telephone extortions via contacts lol, if there is such a thing Tongue out

Thanks for that - so is there no way that I can remove that information even if I wanted to?

Sorry I didn't read the question carefully, when the number 'ported' for my mother, all that information was gone on my sanyo sorry.

That was porting from Telecom to TCL. Not to vodafone so not entirely sure, may be nzbw can shed some light, or munchkin, or cokemaster as they're the telecom resident guru Cool

It's entirely up to you, but it could help avoid prank calls later on down the track. To have the number 'blanked' take the phone into any Telecom store and say that you're selling the phone on trademe, and that you'd like the umber zeroed out. Smile

What sort of dollars are you wanting to sell them for?
