Is there any reason why the Airwatcher card would go dormant and it is needed to restart it to get a connection to work.
my father is using one and it works fine to start with but when he stops using the Browser it goes dormant.
Anyone got any ideas?/
He has just started using Firefox and that is no different.

Could it be the OS is set to allow the device to sleep to save power? Check the USB Power Management cofigurations in Device Manager for this...

Few questions, what aircard are you using?

The 580 or 595 PC Card? or 595U USB stick or 597E Express card or the T Stick?

WHen you mean restart do you mean to get it to work again you have to restart the computer or just reconnect via the watcher software?

What version of the Watcher software are you running? in Watcher click "Help", "About", version and build number please.

What OS?

For a good explanation on Dormancy I direct you to Neal's great write up..

Sorry have been out, it is an 580   0.6.0.58   TRL version 4012      MC5725 Rev 2.0

Was just speaking with him and there are no power options to change in the Device Manager Properties.

I got him to use Firefox like I mentioned when first posted as Internet Explorer can hang also, he just informed me that it seems to be working better now since using Firefox so looks like IE could have been the problem.

He has Vista Business all up to date

When i mentioned restart that was restarting the Watcher software

Sorry he hadnt told me it was working now so dont mean to waste your time but apreciate the replies, you guys are so helpful :)

Cheers
