Hi all, I have a sony ericsson c510, and am thinking of upgrading my data plan so I can use the phone to connect to the internet with laptop (don't have internet at my flat). Just wanting to know the correct settings/ how I set this up. I did manage to get it working but then when i checked my t-world, there was numerous 462 kb data usages just for connecting up and not even browsing. Is there any way to avoid this?

Cheers

You have to install ericssons software off the disk that came with the phone to tether the C510a to your laptop.

then you are asked which country your in Vodafone is the only one listed in NZ so you need to make your own custom settings

Number *99#
APN internet.telecom.co.nz
Username: (leave this blank)
Password: (leave this blank)

should work fine, i've tested the software on XP, Vista and windows 7 and it works fine.

With your data issue have you checked that your email check interval? this was an issue that telecom had with these phones when they released them.
