Hey guys,

Just need some help

Signed up to big time about 3 months ago with telecom total home lite package.

Was informed about the capped speeds on this plan and that was algud but had headaches from day 1

Tech came out and couldnt finish the job so he said they had to come back and do some work and i would get a call advising of costs etc before they did, never got a call and 2 days later had a knock on the door to test the line as the work had been done... phone and internet is now active.

Now speeds i was getting was 4mb down and 1mb up.... this is not adsl 2 speeds i was told by sales i would be getting as she looked on her system and i have a cabinet 1k away from me and was told i would get about 15mb even on big time...

Phoned tech support and the first guy couldnt find the account and said to call back in 2days.
Called back and the 2nd guy hung up on me.
Getting annoyed at this point and the 3rd time i spoke to a lady that could speak proper english but she tried telling me i was getting the max i could get.

I also have another line in my house and it is with orcon but has been re routed through the same cabinet and i get 17mb down on that one.

Would it be fair to have to pay for the broadband and installation charges? Considering i was promised otherwise and didnt agree to the installation as i was told they would call first to see if i wanted to proceed.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Cheers.

No provider promises a speed 4mbps dowm and 1 mbps up is still ADSL speed still the service is working as advised Big time is managed traffic.

What do the line stats show from the modem?

The most important thing however is the ADSL sync stats from your modem. They are the true indicator of your connection speed.
