As notified in press, we are upgrading our radio network controller (RNC) at Christchurch.

A short XT outage is expected that will affect XT customers in Christchurch CBD and from Culverden and Domett in the North, to Oxford in the West and Rakaia in the South - see map of affeted area http://bit.ly/kHSzIv (approximate only).

XT customers will be unable to make or receive calls, text messages, or data for short period - but will still be able to make emergency 111 calls as these will be rerouted during brief outage.

XT services will progressively come back on line - will keep you informed as we progress.

Outage started at 3:00am and finished at 3:13am - all tests good so far - continuing tests

Please be advised that your phone may need to re-register on network (e.g. turn off and on again) otherwise your first call may fail as it re-registers.

Any voicemail and text messages will be held and forwarded as soon as your phone is seen on the network again.
