I have recently been upgraded to this phone with Telecom and I cannot turn the email off and it is eating up my data when I am not at home. I just want to remove the email application rather deactivate the connection all together as I do want to be able to connect while out and about but I do not want it to connect whenever it wants to.

Can anybody help me?

Go into the email application and change the settings so it's not set to check for email continually.

Tha manual should describe exactly how to do this.

Why don't you delete the email account from the phone?

If you don't want to do that you can change the auto retrieval settings.  You can choose the days of the week, the time of day, the frequency of retrieval, and also choose the download size i.e. full mail or headers only.

By choosing the time of day you should be able to restrict retrieval to times when you are in WiFi coverage, say at home.  Choosing headers only will dramatically reduce data consumption.
