Back to this again, what is best site for buying online!?

I used to be an avid user of Trademe, but now there are so many alternatives which seem better - does anyone have any idea on what is best?

So far the only pro I can think of for trademe is it's current user base (being the largest), other than that, Zillion or Sellmefree seem to have better security and lower fees.

Ferrit, though not really an auction site, seems to be pretty useful actually - I think NZ has needed an Amazon.com type site where you can read local reviews.

Anyway, share your ideas.

Zilliom - great site, low traffic. There is not much to keep me interested as a buyer, and as a seller, my items average 0 - 1 views a week, vs about 500 a day on Trademe.

If you could transfer all of TMs traffic to Zillion i would be a happy man.

Ferrit -could- be real good if they keep improving it (about fifty times better than now would be good). It will always be different to TM and certainly not a competitor to it.

Sellmefree is the old traderpoint one?? Have placed some want ads there... its a pity TM doesnt do want ads any more....

I'm surprised TM has never got into wanted to buy again, it would seem to be a function that would offer a lot of potential if managed properly. I'm also surprised no online auction site has introduced dutch auctions as they have the potential to offer better pricing to vendors (at least in the real world).

For those who don't know what a dutch auction is they go down not up, while ideally they need to be realtime you could have a system where the starting price of a product is $100, have a minimum price of say $80. Every hour the price would automatically drop by say $1 and this price becomes the buy now price. People can either risk waiting for the price to drop further and save money or take the buy now.

Yeah, I think Ferrit is good for New Zealand. We've needed an online mall.. something like Amazon which doesn't take 5 weeks and cost $19 US to ship! and it's not really anything like TradeMe when you think about it.
