Hi,

I just purchase the above - but I am stumped at the beginning of the setup process.

I connected the router between my modem and PC as per the instructions
I have done the power up in the order indicated.

But running through the smart setup wizard - it stops at the second step as it says it cannot find a internet connect
NB the first step was to print out the address settings

So on reading the instructions for manual setup and trying to connect to internet - it says go to the login and enter address, etc..
But as the routerlogin is a internet address - of course it wont work.

Has anyone go some ideas?

Out of interest - the routers internet light is flashing amber that indicates it has a connection but cann find the address
if I pull the power cable out - my PC says the lan is not connected - but goes away if I plug the cable back in again.
All 4 lights of my moden are solid green but with PC activity light flashing

Username is "admin", password is "password". You have to manually enter ip address, gateway and DNS server address (TCL provide these addresses - if your computer was previously directly connected to the cable modem then it would have been configured using these addresses) under basic settings. See manual page 3-4.

Thanks for help - It seems to be working now with good range - I just have to add security to the broadcast.

If anyones interested - my problem was I wasn't able to get as far as the router login screen..

I think my problem was I hadn't disabled Zone Alarm and AVG.
Although just for good measure I powered off at the wall to do the power on sequence restart and I reset the router.

My Netgear Router works OK and I dont need any help to set it up.

I am curious as to why you go to a http://www.routerlogin.com to set you router up?
Does this mean that all my router setup and security info is retained on netgear servers rather than the router itself?

Just wondering?
