Hi there

This is my first post, what a great tool. I hpoe I have put my question in the appropriate place.

My ericsson K750i is playing up. About half my keys are not working any more. Really dissapointed as its past its warrenty. Any suggestions what this problem migth be and approx cost???

It's probably the keypad board/dome. It should be somewhere between $50-$80. Make sure you get the orange backlights and not the blue ones. Good luck!

If its only a couple of weeks past the warranty, give SE a call, 0800 100 150 (I think, you might want to check that) they may be able to see what they can do about looking at it.

Else if its a few months past, you'll need to take it to a repair agent.

if you press the keys that "don't go" herder or wiggle them about, does it then bring up the number?

If it's not heavily used or liquid damaged etc, and less than about year and a half old, Phone sony ericsson and demand you want it fixed under the Consumer guarantees act, A phone's keypad should last more than 1 year of not subject to abuse.

if it's abused or liquid damaged, Ask for photo's to PROVE and they you are on your own, (but remember to ask for proof photo's)

you could try and updated it with the latest firmware from SE site using the CD and USB cable thats come with the phone. i think you might need to download a latest program from SE. the phone manual should explain how you do it, just follow what the screen tells you to do. BACKUP THE PHONE DATA FIRST!!

I bought a k750i faceplate, and it arrived fine in NZ - took a couplea weeks.
you can google how to take apart the phone (cant remember the website)

DIY? then you need T6 screw driver to unscrew the case. i can't find these T6 in hardware stores, but i think DSE should have (or the above site) should have them. have a ATM card (or any similar plastic card) handy as by sliding the card along the gap will assist with open the case and minimal damaging.

cnn.cn are all online, and use paypal, I didnt have to deal with anyone directly, and it all came through fine.

T6 - borrowed from a mate - yep DSE sound the go.....

I pulled apart my t610 with dodgy keys and joystick, used a can of compressed air (DSE) to clear out the pocket lint and hey presto, probs went away.

worthwhile to avoid breaking the case...

If you have a keyboard prob, you might need a new keyboard pcb ($8.99 US at cnn.cn) - small price to pay to get your phone back online!

re: sand cover - I got a replacement cover for mine - it is plastic, so must be a clone, but still looks good, and saves you $$$
