Hello folks!

I have a bit of a dilemma.

We need a new connection to a new house in Miramar, Wellington.

There is no existing TelstraClear cable or conduit to our house, but there is to our neighbours.

There is a Telecom conduit to our house with the usual copper wires.

I have spent hours on the phone with Vodafone trying to clarify whether it is feasible to even get a new cable connection. Someone in sales told me Vodafone is not making new cable connections. Someone else told me differently.

I had to go into a Vodafone store to organise an inspection of the property by a Downer contractor. The Downer contractor says a new connection will be difficult, but not impossible. I have not heard from Vodafone either way, even though they organised the inspection.

So, here are my questions:

1. Are Vodafone even installing new cable connections?

2. If the Downer contractor says it is difficult, but not impossible, how can we actually make it happen?

3. If we already have a Telecom conduit, can we simply run the Vodafone cable in it? And if not, why not?

Any answers would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there,

If you could please send me a private message with your address, I can arrange for a technician to carry out a property check to confirm whether we're able to connect the property with cable services. :)

Cheers,
