Weird US to AU routing used to pop up occasionally on Telstaclear or worse via Hong Kong.

Here's what it looks like on Voyager for comparison, peering ftw.

I guess Vodafone won't throw out Telstraclear's existing transit agreements till they expire but they should be able to fix route (if they want too), never had much luck with getting them to do anything about routes like that pre Vodafone, maybe JohnR can use the black helicopter to give the NOC guys a nudge.

Routes to AU on vodafone to tend to go funny every once in awhile...

snap jump onto vocus in APE, and travel over in a timely manner, so i guess its unlikely to be on vocus's side this time.

Good luck.. Routing issues can be a pain to get back to normal often.

A certain data center was routing all Telstra traffic to USA then back for some reason. It was in relation to some game but cant remember what. Log a ticket with the host with issues and Voda.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Between these two hops,

5   18 ms 17 ms 21 ms ge-0-2-0-1.xcore1.acld.telstraclear.net [203.98.50.251]

6   179 ms 169 ms 170 ms te7-3.ccr01.sjc05.atlas.cogentco.com [38.122.92.105]

Who decides where to route the traffic? Telstra or Cogent? Does TCL/VF decide "lets route this via cogent" or something else?
