Can someone please give me the number range allocation for Vodafone homephone wireless in Wellington.

For example I know that in Christchurch City it is 03 420 **** and 03 421 ****

Also if you move to another place in NZ are you able to take the same unit with you and retain same number.

NAD regulations say you're not allowed to use a local numbers outside the LCA which it belongs, and my understanding is Vodafone will enforce this.

If you want to break the rules that's up to you, but you'll probably have to look at VoIP if you want to do that.

The NAD website will list the number ranges.

I am moving to Wellington soon and curious to know what numbers I will be offered. Quite happy to accept new number - no problem there.

I am aware of the NAD website but it doesn't differentiate between homephone wireless or conventional landline.

PORT your current land line to voip, and take it with you. that's what i did, and then you can move to wellington with the same number.
as above its not really recommemded. then you could redirect the voip number to a local number keeping the requirement of NAD etc

i did read some where if you make a 111 call the call wont refrence the correct location. i was under the impression this could be updated some where...........

If you have a voip provider, there isnt really any function for geolocation attached to it in NZ.
In the USA they have an E-911 requirement where voip providers are required to capture addresses from billing records and pass the data to the 911 operator with the call.

I would actually really like to see that happen here.
Voip lines are only getting more and more common with UFB.
Police will commonly look up your last address from their records and make a house visit to find you if you make an incomplete 111 call from a cellphone. Thats harder to do with voip if you dont "interact" with police very often.

Many (but not all) providers in NZ update the emergency services calling database with correct address information so that when a 111 call is made the address is known.
