I have Vista 64 and I have a Vodem.

I downloaded the full Mobile Connect (after running the vodem through my XP laptop for months - which I in tern had networked to my Vista Desktop to get the connection on it.)

The Full Mobile Connect works fine on my Vista 64 - that is it connects fine.

But I find that if I have the vodem plugged in at boot up, Vista wont start loading antill I disconnect it.
As soon as I pull out the usb plug the green loading bar fades in and its all go from there.

Another thing I sometimes find (only sometimes). Once the computers all up and going, If I disconnect the vodem again and plug it back in a moment later, Vista crashes and asks me to start it in safe mode on restart.

Any one else experience this? Is it simply because these arn't straight up Vista 64 drivers?

First and foremost thing, if you are using Vodem, use VMC Lite that comes with Vodem

For starters VCM Lite doesn't work on Vista 64. It wont install, the load bar just keeps going over and over for hours (believe me I tried when I first got it). Unless there are finally Vista 64 bit Drivers out that I don't know about! Please say yes!

Secondly the full version has way more features and is way more stable.

You need to upgrade your Vodem on a computer running Windows XP.

Ok will do that.
Last time I checked, it was only Vista 32bit compitable.

Whats wrong with VCM Full by the way? I like it.

Windows Vista support for vodem was released in May 2007. Windows Vista 64 bit support was released a bit later. The best thing you can do is install the vodem VMC Lite to get the drivers on your machine. Then install the full VMC software and use it. It works just fine with the vodem.

I also had a 64 bit machine running Windows Vista 64 bit.

As for the boot time, it looks like the USB port on this machine is not providing enough power and the BIOS test just stops.

Cheers for the info peoples.

I installed the VCM Lite Update given above on my XP laptop this morning.
Then plugged her in to the Vista 64 machine and no boot problems now. All good.
Still using VCM Full, which as said, works fine.

If I exit VCM Full and double click on the vodem in explorer. it comes up with "Application not found" though.
And if I go explore in the vodem drive and clcik on the app starter it starts (with everything greyed out) then disappears.
Is this cause I still have the full VCm installed?

No biggie, just wondering.
