Hi folks,
I've been looking into changing to Xnet fusion but have a few reservations as I've been stung by ISPs with really bad service before....cough...IHUG...Xtra.....cough.
I currently have an account with Iconz whose servce is simply stunning but the snag is that the costs are high for data - $69 for Iconz 15Gb plan and $42 for Telecom, so of course I like the idea of fusion for the escape from Telecom, keeping my current # ADSL2 and the international VoIP call costs as many of you also do/did.
I live in Vincent Street in Auckland central so am connected to either the Mayoral Exchange or the central one, not sure which....but either way its pretty darn close.
My concerns are:
Latency - I'm a competative gamer and currently enjoy 6-20ms pings (I love Iconz) on lots of NZ servers - with interleaving off on Xnet will I still enjoy these pings?
Bandwidth - We all love good bandwidth - I currently get about 6.5 D/L and 600 U/L - Will Xnets ADSL2+ make thing better or worse?
International Bandwidth - Is this issue resolved with Xnet?
Bandwidth reduction - Do Xnet throttle bandwidth?
So is it worth making the switch? I really like the idea and the cost savings and practicality but am worried about the quality of service.
Is there anyone else in Central who uses Xnet fusion and if so how do you get on?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
