Its essential for me to keep my old telecom number. Dont want to go to fusion. Is it possible to get telecom to assign me a new number so it frees up my my old number and port this accross to Xnet or will my old number just go back into telecoms pool of numbers?
Your number must be active when you do the port. If you disconnect it, it will go into the pool and may be reallocated.
When the port goes through, your landline will collaspe and take all assocated broadband services with it. Probably the best solutions is to customerlink your current number, get a new landline number and then port your customer linked number across to worldxchange.
This may cause some distruption but will mean that you don't have to go to fusion if you don't want to (and you have a useful back up if you lose DSL and cannot answer your VoIP line).
