I've just got my VFX activated on the fusion circuit and I was wondering what the optimal QoS settings would be on the DD-WRT v23 SP2 firmware. FYI, I have the WRT54GL wifi router.

I did a few searches on this forum, but pretty much came up with nothing related to the DD WRT firmware. I'm in Dunedin where my speed test results are usually around this range:

Occasionally my flatmates would run bittorrent, and obviously, this would affect the VFX line. So hopefully someone with the same firmware can tell me what to do. I've seen someone mentioned that the downlink column should be left at 0 due to the fact that the downloading speed varies throughout the day.

Also, if you look at my results, it's slower than most of users that I've seen on this forum with ranges from 3000kbps onwards. Most of the time it actually runs at about 1600+Kbps. Is this unusually slow? Just curious to know if it's coz I'm all the way down in Dunedin or something.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

ouch yes that is slow for Dunedin DSL.. where abouts are you?? im in Dunedin myself.. NEV

also what type/model of DSL modem/router r u using?

I to also have the wrt54g .. but im running Tomato on it.. cos people say it has better Qos..

Also keep in mind that because you have Xnet Fusion.. Xnet will run Qos on your download bandwidth..
So you shouldnt have breakups because of the Download speed gettn eatn up..

But its a good idea to Qos your Upload from the wrt54gl

Ill be happy to help if you need it..

I'm using a dlink dsl-502t modem. Any known issues with that model?

I live very near the uni campus. Dundas Street if you know where that is. So I figure it couldn't be some sort of "distance from the exchange" issue, could it?

My current downlink is set to 0 for the QoS. And the uplink 670kbps. about 90% of what I usually get for my upload speed. 750+. Is that sufficient?

you could try asking your flatties to just limit the number of connections their torrent clients are creating. shouldnt affect speeds to much and may help
