I have seen similar post before regarding the slow video stream and the guy was advised that it could be the server from where the stream is originally coming from, but unfortunately I have the same problem and is not the stream from China or anywhere else in the world but from Xnet themselves. How can they outsell the service and say on the phone "it's up to you"??? after purchasing a $300 hardware on my own to get the service and currently renting two lines. also I did my homework this weekend before posting here and went to my neighbor and tested the streams on his rather slow connection (2mb down/128 up) and he's with a different provider, compared to my one of 6.5mb down to 750 kb up (Fusion) and guess what, no buffering no nothing, but once back to my "fast" connection I was frustrated again. Not to mention Ps3 online store/update congestions etc... Must say I have been customer for quite some time now, and the worst thing is that I was fine i.e. happy with the service before, but since Xnet started signing-up to many customers I/We started loosing the bandwidth. Who's to blame? Also no time frame given for solutions, so I wonder are we stuck with the service now? Last thing that surprised me a lot is the customer service representative saying "not worth investing in international bandwidth"??? I think that's the meaning of WWW. Any thoughts or experiences much appreciated.
If you were trying to stream something from one of the news links then it is possible it was international. Xnet may have a link to the story but it's only a link at the end of the day. I could post a link here to a youtube video but just because the link is here doesn't mean that geekzone are hosting it.
If this is the case then it's probably just the old international bandwidth issue which has been well covered.
I would be suprised if xnet CSR's have told you that it's not worth investing in int bandwidth, when were you told this?
A lot of us are in the same boat at the moment, tokk me about 15 minutes last night to download a 12mb program. Pretty frustrating at the end of the day but I, like quite a few others, are waiting to see what happenswith the resolution to the problem that has been mentioned by Mauricio.
Yes I was told that last friday on the phone, and also that Xnet are working on a solution but no time frame was given for the solution. Also the only advice I was given to was to keep an eye on this website and that also someone from xnet "might" see the problem and alternatively advise. Also if they had the international issue going on for a while, why do they still take new subscriptions??? My internet is useless between the hours of 4pm till midnight and that's the only time I want to use it (well most of the time). What I'm trying to say is that it's going to get worse right?
Sounds more like a disgruntled CSR than anything regarding the intl bandwidth... if I ever said anything like that at my past jobs I would have been dragged out and shot - with paintball guns, violence is a bad thing :-p
