Hi all,

I have bought a ASUS DSLAC52U modem router for home network.

I am currently under Vodafone fibre and home phone plan.

I have got the internet working, but not able to have the home phone to work.

How to make the home phone work with the new router? ASUS router does not have a specific port for the phone cable, only DSL port can be used. Thank you!

You can't. Your new router is inferior to the HG659b that Vodafone supply and also doesn't support VoIP.

You will need to reconfigure the HG659b WAN settings to DHCP and remove the VLAN tagging and then plug it into the LAN port on your Asus which *may* possibly work.

If ASUS modem router can't work with VoIP, how to configure HG659 router as connection to Vodafone and for VoIP only (function as a modem only?), and ASUS router to work as a router for the home network?

There is no such thing as a modem with fibre.

sbiddle has given you instructions to do exactly what you have asked.

I would personally use the HG659b as the only device. It's a far higher spec router than the one the OP has purchased and is fully supportted by Vodafone.

Also removes all those config hassles as its settings are pushed out over TR.069.
The hardware is superior as noted above.
You can always just turn off the HG659's wifi and use the ASUS as a access point?

Edit, That isnt a cheap device, go get a refund and use the HG659. Spend the money on a NAS/Roku (Along those lines) or something useful :)
