True but the minimum cost of prepay is a lot less than postpay.

Do you have to be roaming to buy the packs or can you buy before you leave NZ?

Asking because my daughter is going to Australia and I wanted her to have some mobile data while there...

@freitasm Yes you can buy before leaving NZ but buy it on the day she fly's out

So I just read that the $5 daily roaming expires at midnight NZ time. Does this mean that if I happen to buy the $5 package somewhere in the morning overseas but at close to midnight in NZ, the package will only last a little while? That would seem to be entirely unfair.

From https://www.vodafone.co.nz/prepay-roaming/

Important things to know

  1. Remember - your bundle will be activated immediately so make sure you only purchase when you land!
  2. Roaming Add-Ons are valid until midnight NZ time. If you purchased the Add-On before midnight NZ time, you will be able to use it until midnight NZ time the next day. If you purchased the weekly Add-On before midnight NZ time, you will be able to use it for the next 7 full days (NZ time). We will confirm via TXT when your bundle is due to expire. It’s important you keep this date in mind.

@pkb You don't purchase $5 daily roaming but yes as per the terms & Conditions you are correct
