Hi, I am currently using ihug with their new broadband 3 plan. We have been in our new house for about 2-3 weeks now, and since we have been here we have been getting constant disconnections from the ADSL. I have tried a number of troubleshooting ideas such as: Changing cords, using wired instead of wireless, changing filters, using no filters with just the router plugged into the socket and still have had no luck. We have rang ihug a few times now, the first time they said that we hadn't been disconnecting at their end and they couldn't help us. Then the second time we demanded help and they sent a tech down to the exchange to check and they found and issue which they fixed and it still disconnects...

I am using a Belkin ADSL2+ modem with Wireless 802.11g Router, Part # F5D7633au4A. I have updated the firmware to the latest version to try fix the issue and it did not fix anything. In all fairness it could be the router causing the issue as we do not have another modem to test this theory. Any help in fixing this will be greatly appretiated, as there is nothing worse than using the internet for 10 minutes and then getting disconnected over and over. What are the DSL connection stats, US Speed, DS speed, S/N Ratios and Attenuation?

When it connects, is it fast? Have you done a speedtest?

Is there any noise on your phone line (if you pick up a phone, is it clear or is there white noise?)

You don't have a monitored alarm?

hi,
i have this problem too.

At random intervals, at least three times daily, my internet connection drops out completely. When i log onto the modem (DLINK 502t) it looks as if it has been reset back to factory settings.

I have to reenter the username and the like and then reboot the modem and then it reconnects, until the next time. I have got in contact with IHUG numerous times and they do not have a clue as to what is happening, except to keep going through the wizard each time, which to be honest is ridiculous. to save time i have to keep a copy of the config  file that i keep reloading.

One thing i am unsure about is that the firmware has an AU suffix and the settings it resets to are the standard Australian defaults for the modem that i have (according to IHUG)...... I have tried updating the router to no avail as it keeps saying the firmware files are invalid, both oz and nz.

I just have to keep rebooting it myself and resetting things, IHUG tech support are a joke. It is a waste of my phone bill to be repeatedly told to reboot my pc, power off the modem, start the wizard yadda yadda yadda...

I am on IHUG plan 3 and my d/u is 3200/69.

Not sure if it is the same problem but VERY frustrating none the less....
