Hey

I currently have my phoneline with vodafone(ihug) and internet with xnet with a vfx line. and i wanted to shift to fusion and port my current number to fusion and remove the other vfx number. However the major complication is that xnet cant switch me over from Ihug directly(This is based on the information on the website).

any recommendations? suggestions? help...

Welcome to Geekzone. I think you will find that even though you are billed by Vodafone you are still paying for a Telecom line and phone number so you should be able to port it to VFX. I dont think you can port say a phone number on Telstraclears cable service or woosh's wireless phone service it has to be a Telecom phone number on a Telecom line that can be ported regardless of your biller. Someone correct me if I am wrong here.

Unless this has finally been resolved, then no you cannot jump direct from Ihug home phone to Fusion (or any other resold Telecom homeline). There are two ways around this:

1. First move you homeline back to Telecom, make sure you don't get locked into any contract... Or
2. Request a full install ($149), onto a spare 2nd phoneline pair coming into your home

I moved from Slingshot's homeline directly to Fusion back in April.    I had my DSL already on XNET river, and had a secondary VFX line prior.    The Slingshot homeline stopped working for 48 hours, until a temp divert to my VFX line was in place.  I didn't notice any DSL outage, and the whole process was completed in 5 days.

Maybe your were one of the lucky few. There was a small period where this was able to happen, then due to some issues, it all got put on hold again.
