I have switched from slingshot 256k plan to xnet fusion and very happy with service and speed.
Most of time I get this speed ( down 4000-5000kbps, up 600-700kbps) and I would like to know it is normal speed.

I use dynalink rta1320 as modem/router and linksys wrt54g as wireless access point.

I have no idea about full speed up/down hence this question. Thanks.

general speed is a tricky thing to measure... lots of variables etc (distance from exchange, quality of house wiring, butteflies flapping their wings in sync with the prevailent antarctic winds etc).

though, yours are a pinch better than mine and i am happy with my connection.

Please post your router stats; upstream / downstream, line attenuation, noise margin etc. This will give us more info to base a reply on.
I.E. if you are getting those kind of speeds and you are like 10Km from the exchange, then man those are mind blowing speeds; but if you are 50m from an ADSL2+ exchange, then your speeds are really bad.
Therefore - router stats please :)

Typically your potential max speed will be around your downstream connect speed, less about 10-15%. So Tuaman, I'd expect speeds more around the 6-7000Kbps mark. This would generally only be achieved consistently during non-peak daytime.
A few things to try:
1. Test during the daytime and see if you can achieve 6-7000Kbps - if so, great!
2. Check for any updated firmware for your router
3. Connect directly to the RTA1320 and see if your speeds improve
4. Try another router
5. Unplug everything else in the house connected to the phone jack-points (phones, sky, faxes, filters etc). Have only router plugged directly in with no filter.
6. Do you have issues of Internet droping out from time to time?

Post back your findings. However, if point 1 gives you 6-7000Kbps, but it slows to 4-5000Kbps at night; then I'd say everything is running quite normal.
