Hi, welcome to Geekzone, according to the Chorus cabnetisation spreadsheet, somewhere around october2009 through Jan2010 should see you upgraded to ADSL2+, few more sleeps to go :)

Yikes, that is rather a long wait.

I'm in Hamilton and have ADSL2+ (not in your area though obviously)

Hi fellow Hamiltonians....I live in Frankton - and it's ADSL2+ here:

Annex Type: ADSL2M.

Sadly, still only synching at ADSL1+ speeds thanks to imposed artificial technological limitations:

Upstream: 938500
Downstream: 7612800

Far as as I know all Hamilton exchanges have been upgraded to ADSL2+, so because a cabnet maybe some time off it doesn't mean you can't get an ADSL2+ connection. I'm around 3kms from Frankton exchange, can get ADSL2+ but only getting around 5.5mb

ADSL2+ is only effective when you are closer than 3km, otherwise due to high attenuation speed difference becomes marginal.

Is it here?

Ronakp, it would seem you live at the exchange or cabinet, or within 2-300m of it based on the attenuation. You cannot get better connections speeds on ADSL1 than what you have. What plan are you on.

Telecom have a website where you enter your address to see if (when) ADSL2+ is available:

Well, hopefully by the time you get cabnetised Telecom will have allow VDSL2 on the ISAMs for lines <1km, in which case you could expect 100/45, or even higher.

Whoa, Catdog, thanks! I tried numerous times to get that info out of Chorus and wham, you just gave me the means to check myself! "This address is near an exchange which is scheduled to be upgraded with ADSL2+ technology in approximately Dec 2009."

Yay! That's sooner than I had hoped.
Though we have fibre running right past the door; wish they'd just hook me up to that...

It's all meh anyways if you're with xnet... :)

My connect speed is 944Kbps/11.246Mbps but i would probably get better throughput on dial up to telecom ... rofl
