Hi

I have set up the wireless connection but there is no contact beween the modem and router. I have tried everything. I am using a linksys WRT54G2 which i have been told that will run with Telsra.

Can anyone help please.

I have a wrt54g and use it as a NAT wifi router with cable, works fine.

happy to help with your setup.....

My suggestion is try and isolate the problem first

1. Plug a cable directly from your modem into your computer, hopefully this works and it will conform that its your router that has the issue.

2. If the above works, then try a cable to your modem and then another cable from your router to your computer, this will confirm that the router is working correctly.

3. This should confirm if your problem is wireless related or its a probem with your modem or router.

4. try doing a complete reset, I had the same frustrating problem and this appeared to work.

have done all this and tested it with the software installed. I am running Vista is there a issue with this?

When pluged into the desk top I can get the net. Its a new router (could it be faulty?)

There is a connection beween the router and desk top, when pinged.

And you configured the router's WAN interface with the TCL supplied IP address, gateway and DNS server addresses?

Hi,

Are you a member of Telsta or clear? Afaik they make you choose which one when you first join Telstraclear.

When i reconfigured my network the data they gave me first time around wouldnt work and i had some new data(i think it was different DNS server) to enter relating to being a "clear" customer. Ring them and double check.

Go into your router setup and make sure you have it set as a "static" connection, and enter the details in there.

Do you get a connection connecting via ethernet cable into the router?

The force is strong with this one!
