As in a vodem? Im just curious as to where you live and what speeds you are achieving? I currently have Telecom CDMA mobile BB, tried XT but can't get any recption here.  Ive had a look on the vodafone coverage map, and it said full 4 bars for 2/2.5g NO 3g, but 2 bars 3g extended.  If i was to go vodem we would probbaly buy an exteral ariel to boost our signal. Vodafone have better plans than xt anyway,so would prefer vodafone.

Please take a look at the other thread thats already been started a couple of days ago.

It seems that people, including myself are reporting back with pretty poor results..

But I guess in your case, poor results beats no results. Might be different for you though.

My place straddles the border between Kilbirnie and Lyall Bay, Wellington. Vodafone's coverage tool shows full signal for 2G and 3G, as does my Nokia handset.

Recently I've been measuring speeds around 0.5 Mbps, although in the distant past I used to get around 1.4 Mbps. My long experience with Vodafone 3G broadband is that it's anything but consistent.

You require a Vodem stick for extended 3G

The ealry Vodem E220 does not support 3G 900mhz WCDMA

Don't let the bars fool you. In Wellington central I have 4 bars and am getting very very poor throughput.

Its so bad at times that its practically unusable. But then this problem seems to be limited to Wellington central and surrounding areas only.

The speeds you are getting on Telecom CDMA are probably better than my 3G HSDPA speeds. My opinion, stick with your CDMA until VF have sorted out their network problems in Wellington.

... not quite. Im in Auckland (north of Auckland) and the throughput is terrible. I think it would be quicker to run to the other country and put the data on a flash drive and fly back.
To be honest, its only good for viewing some websites.. Just.

I STILL cant accept MSN, because the thoughput is so low.

(okay, thats a bit out there, but yo uget the point)

I find vodafone.co.nz always loads fast. Even when I am getting bad throughput to other sites.

This proves that its the VF network.
