Actually, I usualy call international for 10c per a minute to mobile, however If I call cell phone in New Zealand it will cost approximately 89c per a minute! Why?
MoonEast: ِActually, I usualy call international for 10c per a minute to mobile, however If I call cell phone in New Zealand it will cost approximately 89c per a minute! Why?
A couple of reasons:
1. New Zealand is a relatively large (and hilly) land mass to cover with cell towers for a population of only 4 million
2. There are only two main telecommunication companies in New Zealand, Telecom and Vodafone. Smaller players are emerging, like 2degrees, but the big two companies have been making very generous profits for a lot of years now. Why? Because they can.
Hello, marmel. Thank you for replying my topic. Although thank you for answer my question. But why the calling cards are very cheap..? what is the technical system they use? Is it VOIP..? Because the clear sound is from mobile to mobile such as Vodafone to Vodafone, but from calling card is little bid. Yours sincerely
try using 2degrees for a start if you want to call mobile ... then if you find that you only want to call a few mobiles all the time use bestmate on vodafone
Hello MikeyPl. Just now I called Vodafone customer services, they said if you have prepay number you can have it for one year with out use it, after that you have to setup the number. I hope this is the answer for your question. Yours sincerely
