I have tried I don't know how many times to set up email for my Sony Erriscon V800 phone, registed. Sent me the email confirmations and auto config. Entered it said setup etc, yet send an email to myself to try it, but says it cannot find the server?

What's going on? What's the manual settings?

I was going to get it set up to divert my emails from Ihug, but decided not to as all emails will go to my phone only and with attactments etc this can be very limiting so would rather keep them on my PC.

But don't know why the Vodafone email account does not work on my phone. The config I have a feeling has not set my phone up right, so would like the manual settings and what needs doing?

You are better off doing a manual setup the user name is your full vodafone.net.nz Email address

eg myemailaddress@vodafone.net.nz (do not use your mobile number)

Your incoming server is pop.vodafone.net.nz using port 110
In vodafone mail you will see a option to send out pop/imap password (you have to do this)
out going server is smtp1.vodafone.net.nz
and you use the access point connect using VFNZ internet which has the access point www.vodafone.net.nz

Any further questions just ask

John

You can set your handset to get your Ihug Email (your user name here will not be the full email address just the first part) just advise the handset to get headers and text only or headers only this will leave the Email on the ihug server.

Use the ihug incoming server and your user name and password but use the out going server smtp1.vodafone.net.nz and connect using VFNZ internet.

On your handset under data accounts you only need 3 to do everything with the handset

VFNZ internet (APN www.vodafone.net.nz)
VFNZ PXT (APN live.vodafone.com)
VFNZ WAP GPRS (APN live.vodafone.com)

If you have VFNZ gateway thats fine you only need 2 then

VFNZ Internet
VFNZ gateway

If there are anymore just delete them,

and under pref service make sure this is set to CS only
