Have been having issues with xnet over the past couple of months, random ping spikes of up to 180 to auckland and 250+ off-shore. Has anyone else been having issues around here? Me and my mate are on the same cabinet and get massive issues (Possibly congesting but it's far too inconsistent it seems -_- the cab is ric/g in chch)

So I went on off and sent an email to xnet who are trying to be helpful (And have always been helpful in the years I have been with them) but keep getting told that there is no fault found.

The results I sent off are:
http://tinypaste.com/49673

Which contains a mix of winmtr tests and speedtests. Bare in mind before these issues I was getting 18-25 to xnet :/

So off they went to get telecom to chase it up and I get a response saying the issue is closed. Sounds good to me right? Nein. Later that night I have the exact issues again all the way until 1am.

Tonight is just as bad again:
http://tinypaste.com/bb479

After trying to resolve this and wait pateintly over the months to resolve this im coming to the end of the track with my patience here :/

Does anyone here have any clues as to what else I can try and do to resolve the issue? Or am I just better off jumping ship to another provider?

I can see we've escalated this issue to senior techs at Telecom Wholesale.  I'll see if I can get an update on the problem.

Looking at your MTR's it looks like classic congestion symptoms, however you're on an ISAM which shouldn't have these types of issues.  In saying that there is another thread where JoeCool is experiencing a very similar issue but a totally different location.

Hopefully we'll be able to get to the bottom of it for you.

Update from Wholesale ;

We are working on a problem impacting this customer amongst others, planning the work is currently being done by ALU and we should be able to implement next week, the issue is NOTService Provider Specific.

Will update on progress on this one early next week.

I'll update you when I have further information.

Sweet cheers. I thought at first that it was to due with congestion but the inconsistent timing with the issues is what gets me -_-

We've finally been advised by Telecom Wholesale that they've finished rebalancing traffic,  they have advised you might still get a bit of drop off in peak time, however it should be much better.

Please update this thread or call us if you continue to have problems.

My modem connects at 15mb..
But with www.nzdsl.co.nz tests I only get 5mb at best in early morning and 1-3 mb during evening

so no fixes here

This was just for the ric/g cabinet.

I connect at 5203 but only get 3-3.5mb out of it :/ bad cabinet is bad lol. You should probably make a new thread.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

You are on RIC-RAN-21 so that makes things interesting.  While 5Mb off-peak, & 1-3Mb peak is certainly within spec from Telecom Wholesale's point of view, it still seems reasonably congested.

There seems to be the odd RAN/ISAM combo experiencing congestion nowadays.  Something that hasn't been a problem in the last year or two.  I can only guess the habits of Internet users are changing and what we're seeing is a strain put on the current equipment.  It's concerning that this equipment has only recently been upgraded by Telecom Wholesale.

I'll have a word to Telecom Wholesale and see if any further work is being done.
