Hi

Have a user with an XP laptop on which VMC stolidly refuses to work, with either an e800 card, or a vodem stick.  He is at the stage of being able to plug in the vodem stick, where VMC fires up, but then reports "no device found".

Have also tried the latest version of VMC available (9.3.0.9237), as well as firmware updates to the card.

Either of these devices work fine in other machines.  Any ideas, sympathy etc gratefully received.

Nigel

What firmware version is on the E800?

Actually Johnr this reminds of a question I was going to ask. On a Vodafone website can't remember which one though (UK I Think) there is a version 10 of VMC available for Download. I haven't been able to Download and it does have a rider that it doesn't support UK settings. Is this a update to version 9 or something else?

Version 10 is very different its a much better user interface this can be downloaded from the business.vodafone.com site as well I am using it on my work laptop.

Latest firmware for the E800 can be downloaded from www.mobilenetworks.co.nz under Vodafone downloads. (remove SIM when doing update)

Thanks Johnr

Firmware on the card is 11.310.16.00.00.B310.  Did that upgrade in 2 parts, first to 11.310.13.00.00.B310 and then a final step.  Both completed successfully, and I had the SIM out while doing both upgrades.  Checking on what Device Mangler says - will advise

What a difference a day makes!

The machine in question lives in Auckland while I live in Hawkes Bay, so I have to rely on second-hand knowledge.  The user plugged in the stick, and went through 'a couple' of steps, then was prompted to restart after install finished.  Badabing it works?!?!?!

*SHRUG* 117th time lucky I guess!

Many thanks for your help guys.
