Hi All

I'm new here and am hoping someone with more technical nouse than me can help.

A fortnight ago I replaced my failed WAG54Gpv2 with a SRP527W (which is Xnets suggested voip device). I have naked DSL and use VFX.

My calls have been cutting out at times, and typically intermittantly. At these moments, my caller will not be able to hear me...it's like I'm muted. After a few seconds, voice comes back. I have a cordless phone.

The worst of it is with the router...I've been surfing on the PC and will hear an audible click from the SRP. I look and the DSL light is off, consequently the phone light also goes off. At this point, I have no internet connection. About a minute later, there is another click, and the DSL light comes back on, and I have internet back. What could this be?

I'm the first to say I don't fully understand what the SRP is capable of, and have left all factory defaults, other than the voice provisioning required by xnet.

Are there any settings I should look at that could be causing this? I've felt for excessive heat coming from the SRP - it's warm, but no more so than I'd expect.

Any help would be very welcome! Thanks in advance.

Shane

I also have a Cisco SRP but the cable model. Voice quality is good, had no problems.

The reset you are experiencing could be the DSL link breaking causing it.

What I have experienced here though is when the cable service goes down, the router resets itself up to five times before it settles in. A bit annoying, but it is not frequent.

Yes, sound like DSL issue. Can you please post your line stats.
Also, what modem or cordless phone do you have? Does it run on 2.4GHz?

As the others have said the clicks will be the device looking for the failover to the FXS line whn the device lose it dsl, send me your details and I will get someone to take a look at it,

If you send me the details of the calls that had issues I will take a look at that as well.

Yes the SRP527 runs quite hot a lot hotter than most... It's due to the dsl chip :)
